Cocoa may take a little time to warm up to new people, but once he does, he will shower you with love and affection. This gentle boy enjoys the company of children, other dogs, and even some cats. Cocoa would love to have a home with a backyard where he can run and play. He is fully potty trained and eager to learn new things. Cocoa is in excellent health, up-to-date on all his vaccines, neutered, and microchipped.

Hunter is a sweet boy who was adopted from us in Jan 2021. He was returned to us Jan 26, 2024. He had started to display some food and toy guarding and they were expecting a baby soon. We have see some food guarding but the toys just seem to be play talk. We feel with the right people this will stop. He is a lovable dog and shows lots of affection. He would do great with a family, if kids are older then 10.

Charlie is a friendly, sometimes timid young pup with a fun side.  Charlie may be a little shy at first, but he’ll quickly warm up to you and show you his funny and playful side.  Charlie has proven to be great with other dogs and ok with most cats. Charlie is a young dog who would love to have a forever home. If you’re looking for a funny, friendly, and quiet companion, Charlie is the one for you!

Milo is a ray of sunshine. He has the biggest pitty smile we have ever seen. He is super sweet and loves to play with other dogs. He does have some toy aggression when it come to other dogs taking his toys, but is able to play with toys outside with other dogs. He is a charmer and cuddle bug. He was adopted from us in March of 2019 and was found wandering the streets on Oct 2023. We contacted the previous owners and they no longer wanted him as their son moved and couldn’t take him. Part of our adoption policy that if an animal is no longer wanted, they are to bring them back to us. But unfortunately that didn’t happen in this case. We are not sure how long he had been wandering the streets looking for love.

Mavis is a wonderful adult female dog with a heart full of love! This friendly, loyal, playful, brave, curious, independent, athletic, funny, and affectionate girl is ready to find her forever home. While Mavis is a fantastic companion, she prefers to be the only pet in the household. She’s been searching for her perfect match since February 2021 and is eager to find a loving home with adults or young adults.

Meet Ajax – an adorable sweetheart senior dog who is full of love, affection, and energy! Despite being a senior dog, Ajax has the spirit of a puppy and is always curious, playful, and funny. He is athletic and would love to run around and play with you in the yard. However, what Ajax loves the most is giving kisses to everyone he meets! He’s one of the most affectionate dogs we’ve ever met, showering everyone with hugs and kisses. All this big guy wants is love. This sweet boy needs a patient owner who can help him with potty training (he does great in an office environment though!). He gets along well with most dogs and is even great with puppies.. Ajax had a challenging beginning, but he is now looking for a loving home where he can spend his golden years. Beans is a delightful 1-year-old dog who loves to play and explore! This energetic girl gets along great with other dogs and enjoys the company of children. She’s looking for an active family who can keep up with her playful spirit and provide her with lots of adventures. Dee Dee is all the extras you could want in a dog. Extra loving, extra playful and EXTRA athletic. If you are looking for a dog who you can train to compete in agility or wall jumping, THIS IS YOUR GIRL! She can clear a 5 ft wall from a sit and can get over our 8 ft fencing. She just wants to be with her people, she doesn’t run away. She came back to us Jan of 2023 after being in a home for about 2 years. She came back very skinny, shy and coward at the slight movement of a hand towards her. She is now healthy, outgoing and loves people.

Dottie is a bundle of puppy energy in a grown-up dog body! Her dream day? Running and playing in the yard and going on walks with her favorite people! Due to her high activity level, Dottie might be a bit much for small children and would be best suited for a home with kids over 10. While she loves people, Dottie can be a bit particular about her canine companions and may do best as the only dog in the household. Her playful energy might also be too much for more laid-back dogs. Dottie was picked up as a stray by Kershaw County Humane Society on March 8, 2021, and came to Paws on March 16, 2021. This sweet girl has tons of love to give and with a little patience and training, she’s sure to blossom! She’s a happy, playful pup who loves to snuggle and play with her soft toys.

Hershey is a personable pup who loves everyone he meets. This sweet boy was sadly abandoned in Chesterfield, SC, along with 14 other puppies. Despite his rough start, Hershey remains full of life and eager to explore the world. He’s a bundle of energy and would thrive in an active home with opportunities for play and exercise.

Hello, my name is Henry and I’m an adorable, adult male with a lot of love to give! I am very affectionate and love to be around people. I can be a bit curious and I love to sniff around and explore, but I am also very brave and friendly. I enjoy playtime, walks (I’m good on a leash), and just being around my human companions. I’m an intelligent dog and I’m always eager to learn new tricks and commands – I’m sure I’d be a quick study for any training! I’m great with kids over five, though I’m still learning not to give little “love nibbles” when I’m excited. Even though I am friendly, I get along well with cats who are dog-friendly. I do not know if I get along with other dogs yet, so I’d prefer to be the only dog in the household, but I am currently working on my social skills with other dogs. Lulu is a super sweet and happy-go-lucky Boston Terrier/Rat Terrier mix, born on April 1st, 2016. This three-legged senior may be missing a limb, but she’s definitely not missing out on life! Lulu is always happy and loves to run and play. She’s up-to-date on all her vaccines, good with most dogs, and loves small children. A true people-pleaser, Lulu is also potty trained! She’s dreaming of a forever home where she can climb up on her bed, relax, and soak up the sunshine.

Trixie is a sweet and gentle Welsh Corgi/Lab mix born on April 1st, 2019. This lovely lady is looking for a home with adults and older children where she can truly shine. Trixie is generally okay with other dogs, but she can get a little jealous when they receive attention and she doesn’t. Unfortunately, she’s not a fan of cats. As a senior dog, Trixie’s ideal day would involve lounging on a comfy bed soaking up the sun or relaxing on the couch watching TV with her favorite people. She is spayed and up-to-date on all her vaccines.

Charlotte is a beautiful 4-year-old black and white spayed female with a touch of independent spirit. While she doesn’t demand much, this sweet girl truly blossoms with love and sunshine. Imagine her purring contentedly as she basks in a warm sunbeam, knowing she has a special human to call her own. Charlotte prefers to be the queen of her castle and isn’t a big fan of other cats (though she’ll tolerate them if they respect her boundaries!). Dogs are definitely not her cup of tea. Damian is a senior dog with a lot of love to give. He’s a friendly and affectionate boy who loves to play, but he’s also gentle and loves getting belly rubs. He’s a well-behaved boy who is just looking for someone to love him.
